John DeBello

John DeBello

President . Creative Director

John DeBello has worked all over the world producing, writing, and directing strategic communication campaigns, long form programming, and national advertising. His work has aired on HBO, Fox, Discovery Networks, PBS, ESPN, G4 Network, and numerous international broadcast outlets.

He has designed and executed customer-facing initiatives and content for many leading organizations, including Cobra Golf, CSC, Dell, DirecTV, Disney, Harvard University, Qualcomm and the United States Olympic Committee. He’s produced the video portion of presentations that have resulted in the award of 3 Super Bowls and a U.S. Open.

His notable accomplishments include creating/producing the live event for Motorola that introduced digital HDTV to North America; helping design and execute a direct response broadcast model for Dell that tripled anticipated call volume; writing/directing more than 50 communication programs and projects for multiple divisions of DirecTV; designing online media for a new iPhone app that achieved a #1 sales ranking; and executive producing one of network television’s first digitally animated series.

Never boring.

A humorous commercial he produced, wrote and directed for GameStop was selected as “TV Spot of the Week” by AdAge.

John’s ability to marry compelling storytelling with complex themes is demonstrated by projects such as Strategic Cyber Defense, a visionary motion picture he wrote & directed for the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA). The film is currently being used at the highest levels of the federal government to help determine the nation’s cyber-defense strategy; similar LomaVision™ programs include major productions for the nation’s intelligence gathering community and corporate technology leaders.

He is co-author of Working Through Synthetic Worlds, an anthology of visionary concepts designed to advance the study and implementation of improved analytical decision-making tools and processes.

Fresh out of college, John was the guy behind one of the most successful cult movies of all time, the wonderfully wacky “Attack of the Killer Tomatoes.” (How’s that for creative?) In addition to guiding 3 sequels and the #1 rated Fox animated series, he wrote the catchy theme song (perhaps the only tune in history to be broadcast from the space shuttle and the CBS Evening News).

As a student, John won national recognition in Eastman Kodak’s Young People’s Movie Awards. He’s been inducted into the Silver Circle by the National Association of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS), Pacific Southwest chapter, in recognition of special achievement in television.
